New music ~ Griff ~ I thought Griff’s first proper release Vertigo was a bit of a golden slipper when I discovered it last month but now Taylor Swift has apparently tweeted about it so slightly less ear to the ground….! It’s still great sultry melodic pop.
Performance ~ Notorious B.I.G. ~ had a fun “best album ever” chat over dinner recently. There were let’s say….eclectic tastes round the table…. But Dre’s The Chronic and the Miseducation of Lauren Hill were in the conversation which sent me down a YouTube rabbit hole on the train home reliving my hiphop soaked 90s adolescence. Here’s a reminder of how good Biggie was - free styling on a street corner when he was 17. Smooth.
Music geek stuff ~ yesbergerplease ~ a lot of things I love come together in the instagram account of yesbergerplease; Rhodes piano sounds, the great outdoors, the OP1, funk/disco beats, nice key changes.
