New music ~ Kiefer ~ Have been into this guy for some time - Superhero came out last week full of soul, his great piano playing, J Dilla style drums and v cool animation. One for the spring sunshine playlist.

Performance ~ Allen Stone ~ this guy gets a bit overlooked in my humble opinion. A lot of feeling in everything he does and this song he wrote for his mrs is a cracker. This is a super simple version with just a couple of his fans on BVs but there’s another with a tasty string quartet arrangement to check out.

Music geek stuff ~ Merry Clayton’s raw vocal from Gimme Shelter session ~ a lot to love in this; Clayton’s vocal, the song, Mick Jagger explaining “you know you kind of do these things at two the morning… come in the next day and go ‘bloomin hell that’s good’”. It’s taken from the movie ‘20 Feet From Stardom’ which I highly recommend - some incredible singers and stories from the glory days.
